How to Measure Men's Pants Size?

You will need to take a few body measurements (waist, hips and inseam) to determine your correct pant size. But no worries! Let us show you how to measure...

Waist: Use a flexible measuring tape and measure circumference around your natural waistline. Your waistline is located just above your belly button (narrowest/slimmest part of torso).

Hips/Seat: Measure circumference around the fullest part of your hips. Make sure to keep the measuring tape horizontal.

Inseam: Measure from the top of your inner leg (crotch) to bottom of inner leg (where pants ends, about 1'' (2,5 cm) below the ankle).

Use measurements to determine your pants size from the pants size charts below:

  • R = Regular Inseam. See information about tall (for taller men) and short inseam (for shorter men) at bottom of this page.
Most pants manufacturers offer pants in different lengths. Regular (R) is standard length, while Long (L) (sometimes called Tall (T)) is ment for longer persons. Short (S) is ment for shorter persons. But which length to choose? Simply see our length chart below...
